Customer Testimonials

Hi

Just to say thanks for a brilliant tour on Saturday. Without exception all persons commented on how interesting both the tour around the vineyard and the wine tasting was and really enjoyed your practical and hands on explanation of all you did. All really liked the wines and I hope the sales at the shop showed this?

A few members wondered when you found time to sleep!!!

Regards and many thanks

Mike (Morgan Car Club)

Dear Richard and Sian,

Apologies for not writing sooner, as you say I was on my knees after the wedding which was nothing short of a triumph and your wine was very much appreciated - lots of people commented on how much they enjoyed it.  I will be more than happy to write a testimonial on the website and I can't thank you enough for all your help in storing the wine, making it such a pleasure to sample and choose the wine.  Luckily we brought a few bottle home so we can continue to enjoy it!

Best wishes, Jane (Oxford)

You really did give the Berkshire Wine and Food Society a super day.   The best guided vineyard tour I’ve ever had and, as you can imagine, I’ve been on quite a few.  I’ve never  heard so clear an exposition of the merits and demerits of the different styles of pruning, for instance.  You certainly have to have the courage of your convictions as a vigneron;  you can’t change your mind after you’ve set up a system, but at least at the Bothy you have both high and low pruned vines so you can see which get the most frost damage.

But thank you again for that most enjoyable day.  It is such a pleasure to see the Bothy in such good hands.

Debora Jeffs, Berkshire Wine and Food Society

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for making us so welcome and sharing the secrets of wine making with us yesterday evening. Every one enjoyed it so much, ever the non drinkers amongst us! Afterwards in the pub, they were all chattering away about the vineyard and the merits of different wines. Several ladies remarked on what a good team you made - We wish you the best of luck, with the weather and your next harvest.

"We want to say a huge thank you for the superb tour and talk that you gave us last evening. We found it so informative and interesting. It's clear that you are dedicated and enthusiastic in your quest to produce high quality English wines. I can still smell and taste them!! You made the whole wine-making process easy to understand for a lay person like me without being in the least condescending. We certainly look forward to heaing about the harvest this year and to buyng some wines in 2010. Our very best wishes."

Ann and Brian Ellis, Fairford Wine Circle

"I was so saddened to hear that this will be no Oxford Dry this year. What a shame! I was so looking forward to buying half a case to put away for Christmas. I regard it as the best english wine I have ever tasted. So good luck with this year's harvest for a new "batch" of Oxford Dry and I shall be there in the long queue to buy this most delicious wine."

Just to thank you and your husband for making our visit to your vineyard so interesting and entertaining.  Everyone thoruohgly enjoyed themselves and many are planning to look you up next May since we all found your wines delightful - such bouquets and excellence on the palate.
With best wishes and hoping the weather is kind to you.

I wish to congratulate you and your family on the Oxford Fumé 2009. We had a bottle with a prawns in cream dish and it went superbly. We loved the bouquet, flavour and balance. In spite of your using new oak, the oaking was quite subtle. It is pity that you made so few bottles.

Well done.

Best wishes, Bernard Lamb
