Our Wines

The Grapes for all our wines have been tended and picked by hand and the wine made and bottled entirely on the estate with minimum intervention.

All of the wines make a good aperitif and are excellent with a range of food. In particular they partner rich and spicy foods well. Try them with smoked salmon, fish and chicken dishes, oriental food, leek tart and cold, smoked meats.

Three new wines are now on sale at £7.10 each.   The prices have had to increase due to government duty increases.

  Oxford Dry 2007

This bottle is just one of 2488 produced in 2007.  The grapes for this wine (Huxelrube, Bacchus, Perle) have been tended and picked by hand and the wine made entirely on the estate with minimum intervention.  This year this has resulted in an attractive light blush to the wine which complements its intense fruit and floral flavours.  Lovers of Sauvignon Blanc will enjoy this wine.  Superb with rich white cheeses.

Formerly won silver medal winner in the Thames and Chilterns Vineyard Association Wine (TVCA) Challenge and Winner of the Mac Mackinnon Trophy for best white wine in the region in 2005.

The Paradox 2007

The Paradox is a concentrated, medium wine brought about by the heavy rains!  The 2007 July storms caused our Ortega and Findling to set seedless fruit which formed small berries.  These berries ripened with high sugars and outstanding flavours.  Early picking ensure good balancing acidity.  Only 1,218 bottles of this extraordinary wine have been produced.  Nectarines and a hint of dill seed on the nose giving way to peaches and cream on the palette.

An excellent wine which should age well and develop in complexity.  A delectable aperitif, it would partner onion tart, pate, smoked meats and Oriental food.

  Oxford Pink

By the careful blending of the first fruit from our young red varieties, with our mature whites (Huxelrube and Ortega), Bothy Vineyard has produced its first rosé.  Dry and elegant, its restraint resembles old world rosés.  A hint of cherries and rose petals.  Only 461 bottles of this well structured wine were produced.
