Our Wines

The Grapes for all our wines have been tended and picked by hand and the wine made and bottled entirely on the estate with minimum intervention.  *** NEWS FLASH - four of our wines won silver medals in the English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition 2011***

All of the wines make a good aperitif and are excellent with a range of food. In particular they partner rich and spicy foods well. Try them with smoked salmon, fish and chicken dishes, oriental food, leek tart and cold, smoked meats.   A new range will be released on 6 May 2011.  The prices have been held in spite of government duty increases.  Did you know that for every bottle of still wine sold, £1.81 goes to the exchequer!

The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend that adults do not exceed 3-4 Units a day (men) and 2-3 Units a day (women).

Halcyon Days 2008 - Nearly Sold Out

Our first English Sparkling wine in 13 years, this light, dry and very fruity wine is made from a blend of all our white grape varieties using the traditional champagne method.  Whilst the mousse and bubbles resemble a quality Champagne, the flavour of our sparkling distils the best of our aromatic grape varieties and the Bothy site - peaches, grapefruit, crisp green apples and delightful softness.

  Oxford Dry 2010

This crisp wine has a floral nose, yellow plums and greengage on the palate, with crisp acidity and a long finish.  This is a blend of Solaris, Huxelrube, Findling, Perle,  and Kerner, which when blended together give the Dry its lively fruit and floral noes. Lovers of Sauvignon Blanc will enjoy this wine.

The wine is very well balanced with flavours of sherbet, citrus and white fruits and with a depth of flavour which belies its lower alcohol content.

  Renaissance 2010

The Ortega grapes for this wine came from 30 year old vines. The small quantities produced allow for meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and winery.  The 2010 Renaissance is an off dry, soft and rounded wine redolent of peaches and almond blossom.

Oxford Fumé 2010

This is the second Bothy white which has been fermented and aged in new French oak barrels. Made entirely from Ortega in 2010, the result is a well-integrated, dry wine with subtle, creamy oak flavours that compliment its fruit – pineapples, guava and peaches. Just 654 bottles were produced.

Oxford Pink 2010 - SOLD OUT

By the careful blending of fruit from Acolon and Regent, Bothy Vineyard has produced a dry and fruit driven rosé.  More typical than our 2009, bursting with flavours of cherries and strawberries, this fresh rosé is an exciting new addition to our range. Only 385 bottles of this delightful wine were produced.

Côté Bothy 2009 - Special purchase

1044 bottles of our experimental, barrel-aged red wine were produced in 2009 tasting of blackberry, damson and arbutus. Our usual philosophy of minimal intervention in winemaking has resulted in a full bodied, intensely coloured wine, but it will throw a substantial deposit and will benefit from decanting shortly before drinking. Grape varieties include Rondo, Ortega, Regent, Dornfelder and Dunkelfelder. To be drunk young. The grapes for this wine have been tended and picked by hand. Dry English wine
