A TRADITION OF HANDCRAFTED WINES - has come to an end
Our philosophy at Bothy Vineyard has been to produce the highest quality wines from grapes cultivated in as environmentally-friendly a way as possible. We continued an ancient tradition of wine making in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire. The local micro-climate, warm sandy soils, long ripening season and mature vines produce wines of consistent depth and quality which have won many awards. However, climate change has brought us milder springs which encourages early vine growth which, unfortunately, gets killed by late frosts to which our site is prone. In the past 10 years we only had one in which we had no frost damage and have reluctantly decided to retire the vineyard. The wines listed are the last which we have produced. Sadly, there will be no more.
